Introduction

The purpose of this report is to show the heavy metal emission in Kosovo. The report includes the main pollutants and polluters of the heavy metal emission. Moreover, the impact of these, the impact of heavy metal emitted from KEK on the environment and on people’s health is discussed. The first part of the report is a general background description about Kosovo where the most affected areas from this issue are mentioned. The report goes on with the sources of pollutants and the main polluters. Another part of the paper is the impact of air pollution on people’s health; we go on with calculations of population’s exposure to these pollutants which are illustrated with epidemiological data, the final part of the paper is about lead contamination and the health concerns related to it.
