Step-by-step guide to (elimination of) the email barge!
For those new to the Wiki environment, you may have been inundated with emails telling you about updates to the Wiki by members of our committee. This may be annoying to you, as all of our in boxes are already over stuffed (many apologies from Anne and I – a lot of Saturday night modifications! Sorry!)!
Just to make sure that no one is annoyed (or tells every one via email that they added a "," to a document!), here are some items that might be of interest to you.
Thanks to Anne for her notes on this topic!
Thanks!
Sandi
In the event you don’t already know this about the RIT Wiki:
If you want to receive automatic notifications when a team member updates a Wiki page, go to the home page and CLICK on the eyeball icon at top, right (see below). Warning – you will receive a lot of emails – just delete the ones you don't care about :) You can turn off this option at any time if you wish (just click on it). See screenshot #1 below.
Also, when doing minor edits to the pages the writer (you) can turn off the feature by unchecking the NOTIFY SENDERS option at the bottom (as a courtesy to save the volume of emails). You can also add a note as to what you did. See screenshot #2 below. Please do this if you are doing a minor edit (like punctuation and spelling)! We all thank you!
