Project Summary

Project Information

The RD UVC System, developed by Steriliz, LLC,  is a portable device used in hospitals throughout the United States and Canada that eradicates dangerous pathogens in medical facilities using UVC radiation. The system utilizes wireless sensors to measure the UVC radiation dosage from the emitter, streaming dosage information to the Cloud to verify disinfection.

The task is to improve the emitter and sensors localized positioning, keep track of tower room location, and improve the lifetime and durability of the sensors by implementing induction charging. The end goal is to produce a functional prototype with the necessary technical specifications and detailed design documentation for the updated product while adhering to electrical safety requirements. Two design solutions will be implemented to allow the customer to explore different positioning methods.
