Project Summary

Project Information

In the sport of quidditch, three upright hoops are used as goals for each team. Due to the fast-paced nature of the game there are often disputed calls between referees and players. This can cause animosity and often a less official feel to the game. The proposed improvements would provide the sport with a lower cost goal detection system packaged in a more durable hoop for everyday play. The improved design would also pack up efficiently to provide for increased ease of travel and transportation of equipment to and from events around the country. Current hoop designs are simple and modular, with components often coming uncontained, and do not assist referees in determining the validity of potential goals.
