Issues Raised

  • Concern over kids hitting their face on a tile
  • Kids will want to gain speed before jumping, despite what coaches tell them
  • Grounded 2x4s may want to pulled in (cross bar above/below tiles? Third padded platform in the middle?)
  • Paul really wants us to use the telephone poles
  • Pool noodles deteriorate quickly in the sun, but can easily be replaced (spring → firehose → pool noodle)
  • RIT woodshop may be restricted

Decisions Made

  • Ending platform should be around 5 feet in length
  • Ending platform will need to be padded (can lower height to add thick padding)
  • If we are not using the telephone poles, obstacle should be moved somewhere else
  • Paul says we do not need a building permit for playground equipment (will research further)
