PharmaSat monitored the growth, density and health of yeast cells along with pressure, temperature and acceleration experienced in Low Earth Orbit. The goal of the satellite was to determine how the yeast responds to antifungal treatment and to learn more about drug action in space. The results revealed a 33 percent longer lag time and 60 percent longer doubling time than identical ground control experiments.
