The Earth Planet

Earth, our home planet, is the only planet known to support life in our solar system, Earth was formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago and it's name comes from the Anglo-Saxon word Erda, which means ground, soil, and Earth.earth is the third planet from the sun and the largest planet in solar system it is smaller than  Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, but larger than the three other rocky planets, Mercury, Mars and Venus. Earth is also the only planet not named after a god or based in Greek mythology. Earth has four seasons and this is as a result of earth axis rotation being tilted more than 23 degrees. 70 percent of Earth's surface is covered with water and the other 30 with ground. As i mentioned before earth is the only planet to support life and this is because of air which consists of 78 percent of nitrogen, and 21 percent of oxygen and 1 percent of other ingredients that envelops us.

Subtopic: The connection between art and chemistry

Chemistry – Link to Art. april, 20 2009. Sean Chua.

The connection between art and chemistry:

Chemistry is all around us. Chemistry is a central science and it is a highly abstract type of hard science. For example, the periodic table of elements is a deeply abstract piece of art. There is a reason behind the placement of elements in the table. Each of them has their own history and their own unique relationship with their neighbors. Isn’t that the same when one looks at a piece of art and tries to interpret, understand the painter and its significance. Some people are hard core lovers of science, some just hated it. Chemistry is challenging and difficult for some, but if an artist can survive that painful learning process, he/she can go far beyond the physical appearances. Painting is another form of chemistry and art relate to each other. Painting is based on colors, and colors are the result of interaction between light and chemical substances. When a painter chooses his colors, he is actually selecting what chemical substances he will lay on his table. Slightly different hues may be due to completely different chemical formulas.
