Complete an LOA Success Plan in Starfish

Advisors should complete LOA Success Plans for any student who took a leave of absence and has returned to RIT. 

  1. Access Starfish through: 
      1. myCourses by clicking the Starfish button or the hyperlink
      2. SIS by clicking the Starfish tile on the Teaching, Advising & Support page
  2.  Filter your Tracking tab to identify students with an LOA Success Plan
    1. In your Tracking tab, click on the Add Filters button.

    2. Click on Success Plans in the left menu. Then check the box that indicates “Students with a Success Plan.”
    3. Select the LOA Success Plan in the “Plan Type” drop down menu.

    4. Check the box that indicates “In Progress
    5. Click the Submit Button. Filtering this way will produce a list of active To-Do's items for any of your students associated with an LOA Success Plan. 


  3. Clearing all the To Do's for an LOA Success Plan will complete the LOA Success Plan. Follow these steps to complete the To-Do's
    1. Select the LOA Success Plan To-Do'd you need to complete. 
    2. After you have selected all that apply, click the Resolve button. 
    3. Add any details in the comments section about why you are resolving the To-Do.
    4. Then click the Submit button.
    5. Starfish will pop-up a window that says the To-Do was completed. Press the OK button.

Delete an LOA Success Plan in Starfish

Advisors should delete any LOA Success Plans for students who never took a leave of absence from RIT.

  1. Access Starfish through: 
      1. myCourses by clicking the Starfish button or the hyperlink
      2. SIS by clicking the Starfish tile on the Teaching, Advising & Support page
  2. Student Folders are accessible from any place the student's name is a hyperlink.
    The most common place you will access a student folder is from the My Students or Tracking tabs.
  3. Hover over the drop-down arrow next to the Success Plan to view the Plan Menu. Click on Delete PlanDelete Plan should be used only if the student never took the Leave of Absence. It is important to note that deleting a plan does not remove all of the items from the student’s record; however, it does remove the overall success plan.
  4. The Delete Plan window will open.
  5. Check the box to Clear all Tracking items
  6. Click Submit; all related tracking items will be cleared, no emails are generated.
