New Quiz Builder experience

What is Updated?

The new Quiz Builder saves instructors time by streamlining the screens and work flows for building and arranging quiz content.

Instructors can add questions, sections and question pools, or import from the Question library. From a single interface, they can edit, delete and reorder questions. They can also review critical information such as question points and total points in the quiz; mandatory and bonus status and shuffling behavior.

Timeline

2191 Fall Semester

    • The new Quiz Builder experience will be available as a preview. During the preview period Instructors have the option of working with the new experience or turning it off to use the current experience.
    • All training and documentation will be updated to reflect the new Quiz Builder experience.

May 11, 2020

    • The current quiz experience will be retired by the vendor. The new Quiz Builder experience will become the standard. You will no longer be able to opt-out of the new Quiz Builder.

Actions

    • If you wish to turn off the new Quiz Builder preview, you may do so after clicking Add/ Edit Questions when creating or editing in any quiz. You only have to make this change once, this setting applies to all work in the Quizzes tool going forward during the preview period.

      • A tab will be present towards the top-right of the page.


      • Clicking the tab will reveal the options to manage your Quiz Builder experience. 

New - Quiz Attempts Log

What is Updated?

When grading a quiz a new Attempts Log is available.

The following actions are reported in the Overview tab:

    • Attempt Started
    • Attempt Submitted
    • Attempt Deleted
    • Attempt Restored

Links are presented to limit the view to a specific log activity.

The Detailed log reports the following actions:

    • Quiz Entry and re-entry
    • Response Save time
    • Page Movement time
    • Quiz confirmation screen / completion

These logs are for the entire class, this means the volume of information can be a bit overwhelming on the Detailed tab. This same information has always be available when viewing an individual quiz attempt and selecting the Quizzes Event Log link.

New - Restore Deleted Quiz Attempts

What is Updated?

With the new Quiz Attempts Log instructors have the ability to easily restore deleted Quiz attempts.

In the Quiz Attempts log listing, a Restore button will be available on Quiz Attempt Deleted log entries that have not already been restored.
