Getting Started

The Start Menu allows an instructor to open an existing file, create a new file, and has quick links to other frequently used functions within the program. For an overview of the items in the Start Menu, see the table below.

Make sure the Current Personality drop-down menu is set to D2L Brightspace before you start working in Respondus.

Start Menu Components

?The Current Personality drop-down menu specifies the course management system being used with Respondus. For use with myCourses, Current Personality should be set to Desire2Learn.



Open an existing Respondus file.

Create a new file within Respondus. This file can be a quiz or a survey.

Locate a publisher test bank and select questions for an exam. You can either search for a publisher test bank, register a test bank using a file code and password, or select questions from an existing publisher test bank.

Create a new exam by copying questions from other Respondus files.

Import questions from MS Word (DOC or DOCX), Rich Text, Plain Text, CSV, and other formats.

Create a Respondus archive file, including all questions, pictures, media, and equations.
