Name of concept: School of Nursing
Overview of idea:
RIT has an excellent portfolio of medical science programs, but Nursing is an often requested program of study and high demand career field that we are lacking. Nursing is a program that is perceived by a lot of the public as already being offered by RIT, but is not. This program will attract more women than men, which will help RIT's demographic. It could also be a competitive program that may raise RIT's admission profile.
How this idea leverages current areas of RIT expertise:
RIT has a lot of the coursework in place already that would allow us to offer a Nursing BS and possible Nurse Practioner MS programs.
