Publishing Exams to myCourses

Once you have finished working on your exam or survey in Respondus, you need to publish it to myCourses so your students can take it.

Remarque

You must take the one-time action to add myCourses as a server to Respondus before publishing, please visit Add myCourses as a Server - First-Time Use if you have not done this already.

How to Publish an Exam

  1. From Select the Preview & Publish tab, click Publish, then click .

  2. In the sidebar, select the Publish tab.

  3. Click the Publish Wizard button.

  4. On the Publish Wizard dialog, choose the Type of Publish you wish to perform.

  5. From the Desire2Learn Server drop-down menu, choose an existing server or -add new server- to add settings for a server.
    1. If you need to add a new server:
      1. In the window that appears select Yes, check for preconfigured server settings and click the Next button. This should download the proper server settings from RIT.
      2. Enter a name to describe the server.
      3. Enter your RIT username and password.
      4. Either Run connection test (recommended) or Skip connection test.
      5. Click the Next button.

  6. After selecting a Desire2Learn Server, click the Next button to connect.

    Connecting may take a few minutes, depending on the number of courses you have and during busy times of the academic term such as midterms and finals.

  7. Select your course from the Choose Course to Publish to and options for Create/Replace Assessment Type.

    Chose the assessment you wish to create, or replace.

    If you have set up Random Sections, make sure the Apply Random Sections checkbox is selected.

  8. When finished, click the Next button.

  9. The Publish Wizard should now start to process your submission. Once finished, you will see a Completed successfully message. Click the Finish button.
