Mac Hardware Requirements
For details about your Mac model, click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, choose About This Mac, then choose More Info. These Mac models are compatible with macOS Sierra:
- MacBook (Late 2009 or newer)
- MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 or newer)
- MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
- Mac mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
- iMac (Late 2009 or newer)

Process
- Launch Managed Software Center and select the Updates tab.
- Under Other available updates, click the Plus button to add the install to the pending updates. The update will then begin to download.
- Once downloaded, click the Update button, followed by the Log out and update button when prompted.
- Your computer will log out, begin the install and then reboot.
- After your computer reboots, you can either log in with your Apple ID or select Don't sign in and click Skip to continue.
- You can now continue using your Mac
