In the Zoom integration with myCourses you can import a meeting into a course if it was created on Zoom's main site: https://rit.zoom.us.
Benefit
Take advantage of Zoom meeting features not offered through Zoom's integration with myCourses such as pre-assigning Breakout rooms.
Note - A single course association
A Zoom meeting can only be associated to a single course shell on myCourses. This is a limitation of how Zoom programed their integration with myCourses. We have shared the desire to allow a meetings to be associated to more than one course shell with Zoom and provided use cases to support the request.
Steps
...
Going forward from here, you can edit the meeting either on myCourses or rit.zoom.us without issue. Just noting that some features will continue to be only available to edit through rit.zoom.us such as pre-assigned breakout rooms.
What if I accidently imported a meeting into the wrong course shell?
Open the course in myCourses and click on the Zoom tab. Click the three vertical dots icon, next to the Schedule a New Meeting button. Choose Disassociate Meeting. Type the meeting ID and click Disassociate. The meeting as well as any recordings will be removed from the course shell but will still exist in your rit.zoom.us. account
Meetings can only be listed in the Zoom tab of one myCourses shell.
Currently you cannot have the same meeting listed in the Zoom tab of multiple myCourses shells. You are also only able to Import a Zoom meeting into one Course. Zoom is aware of this limitation and will work on it as a feature request. Instead, you can create the meeting in one course shell, copy the URL, and share the URL to other course shells as a myCourses Content or Announcement. This page has been moved to the new CTL Knowledge Base.
