At this time, single and multi-channel guests are not enabled in RIT Enterprise Slack. RIT Enterprise Slack workspaces are only available to RIT students, faculty, and staff.

A multi-workspace channel allows workspace admins/owners to share a channel between two or more RIT Enterprise Grid workspaces. All members or a subset of the members of both workspaces can collaborate in the channel from their respective workspaces. This option is best for ongoing collaboration between multiple workspaces or inviting an RIT person to be a guest contributor in a workspace. For details, review Create multi-workspace channels on Enterprise Grid.
- Once a channel becomes a multi-workspace channel, no one else on the RIT Enterprise Grid will be able to use that channel name. Due to this, you should make each channel name unique by putting the course number/semester as part of the name. For example, if you want to have a multi-workspace channel called "office hours" shared between multiple classes, have the channel name be something like "officehours-HLTH101-102-2201".
You can direct message anyone at RIT if you need to have an individual or small group conversation. You do not need to add them to your workspace to direct message them. This option is best for conversations that are more private.
