The Center for Teaching and Learning has created templates for Content pages, Content module structures, and other common pedagogical items. There are also vendor-created HTML templates for stylized pages and interactive components.

Downloadable Content Structure Templates
To Use: Download the zip folder from the link below. Import the zip folder into your course by clicking Course Admin, Import/Export/Copy Components. Select the radio button next to Import Components. Select the radio button next to From a Course Package. Click Start. Choose the zip folder. Click Import All Components. After the content imports, you can view the content, import more, or bulk add dates to the content. Everything about these templates is editable after importing into your course. You can delete items you do not need, add additional modules and submodules, rearrange items, and edit all template page text and module/submodule names.

Select the radio button next to From a Course Package. Click Start. Choose the zip folder. Click Import All Components. IMPORTANT: These items are imported into the designated tool and are not automatically added to your Content list. To add things like surveys, discussions, or checklists to Content, navigate to the Content tool, and click Existing Activities. Choose the type of item you imported (e.g. survey or checklist). Click on the item that was imported.

Full Course Template and Demonstration Courses
This full course template has multiple materials all in one shell. It is helpful if you want many of the items listed above but do not want to import them individually. It contains a welcome message announcement, the expanded syllabus, an student survey, weekly modules with activity type submodules (including weekly plans and closing pages), and the general and introduce yourself forums. It also includes an instructor contact information widget that is not available in the above templates.
To Use: Request to be added for copy access to full course template. You will be added in myCourses to this template as well as six demo (view only) shells for inspiration (details about the demo shells). After you are added to the template, you can import portions or the entirety of the template into your course and use the imported materials as a base to create your course. Vendor-Created HTML Templates
Note that these templates are created and maintained by the vendor of the LMS, D2L. For details on obtaining the template files and using them, review HTML Template v3.0.
