RIT will permanently shut down the RIT Wiki (Confluence wiki) on February 2, 2024. Review the Wiki Shut Down Overview for information on alternative tools, exporting content from the wiki, and other FAQs.
We do allow external research collaborators to have access to the cluster. If your collaborator has no other connection to RIT other than as a research collaborator, then they should be registered as a Visiting Scholar.
1. Your new user will need a UID from the registrar. The sponsoring faculty member should make this request. Go to the Registrar and submit a ticket with the following information:
- The sponsoring faculty UID
- Name
- Date of birth
- Home address
- Phone
2. Once the registrar creates a new UID, go to ITS and submit a form for account creation. If the project is sponsored, include the SRS ID from RAPID (rapid.rit.edu). In terms of access, check the box that says "Web access".
3. Once the account has been created, test out the account by logging into some RIT services. Make sure that this account works before moving forward, as new accounts can take time.
