A Google Assignment is different from attaching or linking a Google file to a myCourses Assignment submission. Google Assignments are accessed from the myCourses Content tool instead of the myCourses Assignments tool.

Creating your Deliverable and Submitting a Google Assignment

If this is the first time you are accessing a Google Assignment in this course, you will need to link your account (this is separate from the linking for the Google Workspace integration). Otherwise, verify that the correct account displays and either click Continue or click Link.

  1. Click Sign In
  2. Type your RIT Google account in the following format: abcdef@g.rit.edu (note the g. added to the email address). You will only be able to link an RIT Google account. Personal Google accounts are not allowed to be linked.
  3. Click Next.
  4. If you are not signed into your RIT Google account, you will be prompted to log in.
  5. Click Link.

  • You can run an originality report prior to submitting. Return to step 5 if you need to further edit your deliverable.

Viewing Feedback and Grades on a Google Assignment

  1. In Content, click the external learning tool link for the assignment.
  2. The page displays your total grade, the instructor’s overall feedback, and the rubric assessment.
  3. Under Your Files, click the file name to open the file in a new tab for viewing in-line editing suggestions and sidebar comments.

Your total grade is also displayed in the myCourses Gradebook.This page has been moved to the new CTL Knowledge Base.
