There are two different options for adding a direct link to your course wiki inside of myCourses. First you'll need to determine which option suits your needs, and then follow the appropriate directions to add the navbar link into your myCourses shell.
Standard myCourses Navbar Link
(for individual courses running during a specific quarter)You can also add
a direct link your course wiki in myCourses by customizing your NavBar. To do this, login to your myCourses course shell > click on the Edit Course link under the tiger paw icon > click on NavBars > Click on the name of the NavBar that is currently in use (the active NavBar will have a green check mark next to it) > click on the area in the NavBar where you would like the link to appear > select Wiki from the Inactive links column on the left and when it is highlighted, click on the ">" symbol to add the link to your Active Links list > Click on the Save button to finalize changes. This link will bring you to the main login screen, once logged in, you will be brought to your course wiki homepageReview Customize the Navigation Bar for instructions on customizing the myCourses nav bar. In the step where you add and remove links, choose the standard Wiki item from the list.
Custom Wiki Navbar Link
(for courses with multiple sections, or those running across several different quarters)You can also add a direct link your course wiki in myCourses by customizing your NavBar. To do this, login to your myCourses course shell > click on the Edit Course link
under the tiger paw icon > click on NavBars > Click on the name of the NavBar that is currently in use (the active NavBar will have a green check mark next to it) > click the New Link button > type Review Customize the Navigation Bar for instructions on customizing the myCourses nav bar. Instead of adding items from the standard list, you will create a new link by clicking Create Custom Link.
- Type a name for the link (e.g "CourseAcronym Wiki"
...
- ). Do not name the link "Wiki" with no other supporting info
...
- because there is already a
...
- standard Wiki item in the list.
- Paste your wiki URL in the Link URL
...
- field.
- Make sure the open behavior is set to New Window/Tab
- Click Create and continue through the steps to save the nav bar.
Note that students may need to log into Confluence after clicking these links in order to view the course wiki.
