Editing Files

Using the Edit menu, an instructor can easily add a variety of different question types to their test or edit existing questions. For an overview of the items in the Edit menu, see the table below.

Edit Menu Components

Toolbar

The toolbar provides tools for quickly formatting text and functions like copy and paste. It also has options for adding equations, tables, images, and other media.

1. Save File - save the currently open file.
2. Spell checker - spell check the file.
3. Cut, Copy and Paste - copy text to/from a text entry field.
4. Bold, Italic, Underline - add bold, italic or underline formatting.
5. Superscript and Subscript - add superscript or subscript formatting.
6. Equation Editor - launches the equation editor.
7. HTML Editor - add a block of HTML to a question.
8. Media Wizard - add images, audio, video, and other files; embed files from other servers (e.g. YouTube, Picasa).
9. Power Edit - provides a larger edit window and includes other tools like bulleted lists, fonts, table editor, etc.

Edit Questions

Click a tab to view the template for a question type

Question Template

After choosing a type from the Edit Questions menu, enter the question values in this template and select a correct answer. The Preview button displays the question as it will appear in an online assessment.

Displays a list of the current questions in your file. Image Removed

Copy From Another File

A tool for copying questions from another Respondus file.

Test Bank Network

A tool for pulling questions from publisher test banks. You can either search for a publisher test bank, register a test bank using a file code and password, or select questions from a publisher test bank you previously used.
