Although Respondus allows an instructor to publish the exam directly to a CMS such as myCourses for an online course, it also allows them to generate documents to edit in a text editor or word processor, or print them out directly for distribution within a classroom environment.
You can generate Exams, take advantage of randomization to create multiple versions, create exams with answer keys, or generate a stand alone answer key. All of these can be printed right from Respondus, or you can save them as text files (TXT), Microsoft Word documents (DOC, DOCX), or Rich Text Files which open in most other word processors (RTF).

Respondus can generate up to 10 random variations of an exam, which is helpful for in-person classes when printed exams are needed. |

Respondus allows up to 10 variations of the exam to be generated (labeled Random variation A though J). You have the ability to "randomize all" questions in the exam or to have the questions randomized according to question type (i.e., all the multiple choice questions are randomized within a group, all the essay questions are randomized within a second group, and so forth). If you don’t want multiple exam variations, simply retain the "Original Order" option from the pull-down list. |
