Faculty and staff have the ability to activate their personal wiki space without completing a wiki request form. A personal space can be used to house your research, act as a practice space, or be used to manage personal projects. It should not be used for course-related activities.
We recommend using the Default layout, which will display a globally configured look and feel. You can customize your color scheme and layout manually if you do not want to use the global configurations.
Instructions for Activating Your Personal Space

Go to the Confluence wiki dashboard (https://wiki.rit.edu
), login, and click on hover over your name to reveal the drop-down menu next to your name. It is . Your name will be located in the upper right hand corner of the dashboard, near the search box. Choose Preferences
Click Create Personal Space from the drop-down menu. Click on the blue link labeled Create a Personal Space, it is located in the center of the page. Step through the wizard to finish creating your personal space.
Enter a few details about your personal space:
- Choose who can view and comment on content.
- Choose who can contribute (create and edit) content.
- Choose the Theme (look and feel) for your personal space.
Click Create to create your personal space.The 'Home' page for your new space will then display.
