Student Email

If you wish to check your student email on your personal mobile device, you will need to know your RIT Google Apps Password and enable IMAP on your RIT Gmail.

To set your RIT Google Apps password, go to and click on Google Apps at RIT.  Login using your RIT Computer Account username and password.  From here, you can set your RIT Google Apps password.  It is strongly recommended you use a different password than your RIT Computer Account password.

Once done, you will need to enable IMAP on your RIT GMail.  Do this by signing into your RIT GMail from using your RIT Computer Account username and password.  Once signed in, do the following:

  1. Click the gear in the top right
  2. Select Settings
  3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  4. Select Enable IMAP.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Student Email

To access your RIT Student Email via the web, go to and select RIT Gmail.

To access your RIT Student Email on a mobile device, setup a new account as a Google account.  When prompted for your email address, use your instead of for your email address and use your RIT Google Apps password instead of your RIT Computer Account password..  You will then be redirected to an RIT login page to authenticate using your RIT username and password.

New EMBA Student iPad Orientation Requirements

Before we can get you setup on your iPad, you must have the following accounts:

  • RIT Computer Account
  • Apple ID
  • Amazon Account
  • Amazon whispercastWhispercast

Once you have these accounts, you will be able to start using your iPad for your EMBA classes.  If you are missing any of these accounts, here's what you need to do:

RIT Computer Account

Contact the ITS Service Desk at 585-475-HELP or for assistance.  There are tools at that will can assist you if you forgot your username and/or password.

Apple ID

You will need an Apple ID to use your iPad.  We recommend using your own personal Apple ID so that it remains linked to you iPad at the completion of the program.  If you do not have one, you can sign up for one at

Amazon Account

You will need an Amazon account to retrieve your textbooks through Kindle.  We recommend using your own personal Amazon account so that you can retain access to the content at the completion of the program.  If you do not have one, you can sign up for one at by clicking on Your Account and selecting No, I am a new customer.



Once you have your Amazon Account, we will send you a link to invite you to Amazon whispercast.  Once you have joined using your Amazon Account, we can start distributing your textbooks to you.
