If you have a great idea or need a new technology, this is the way to go about it. Also, if it looks like there are enough engineering seniors in MechE, ElectE, BME, ISE, etc. (all but Chem E and CompE), this is how you can make the group

Step-by-step guide

Start the semester before this needs to happen!

  1. Review the SPEX Senior Design Roadmap if applicable or see what is happening with the graduate research students
    1. Check the Project Readiness Packages (PRP) that are attached to the page. They were made 2014/15, so technology conditions might have changed
  2. Determine the number of seniors heading into MSD are and their proficiencies
  3. Determine the need for the new technology upgrade and capacity
  4. Reach out to Elizabeth DeBartolo first
    1. She might take you on immediately
    2. Then talking to George Slack might be a good idea
  5. Develop/refine the PRP's for the upcoming year
  6. Submit and Refine and work with the department
  7. Get students together from SPEX, but also realize that other people want in too. Alternative viewpoints are typically always good.
