Are there any restrictions for learners outside the United States on taking courses at RIT for further study?

RIT On-Campus Study

International applicants interested in a full Master’s degree program are able to apply to study on-campus as a Master's degree is considered a full course load program. RIT does not issue SEVIS paperwork for the Advanced Certificate program due to it being less than 12 credit hours per term to complete. International applicants may not be able to apply to study on-campus for Advanced Certificates unless they have a valid visa for another reason (for example, work). View The Department of Homeland Security website for details.

RIT Online Study

Certain countries are subject to comprehensive embargoes under US Export Controls, which prohibit virtually ALL exports, imports and other transactions without a license or other US Government authorization. Learners from Syria, Sudan, North Korea, the Crimea region of the Ukraine, Iran and Cuba may not register for online courses at RIT. Nor may individuals on the United States Treasury Department’s list of Specially Designated Nationals or the United States Commerce Department’s table of Deny Orders. By registering for online courses at RIT, you represent and warrant that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any such country or on any such list.
