Important

Mark-ups made on student submissions from both Turnitin GradeMark and the new Annotation Tool are inaccessible to screen readers. Instructors are not able to add alternative text and there is no association between the submission content and the annotation. When leaving feedback for students who use screen readers, instead use the comments field in the grading workflow to type detailed text feedback. Alternatively, if the submission is a Word document or PDF file, you can download the submission and use commenting in Word or Adobe Acrobat Pro to include inline feedback, then upload the marked up document as your feedback to the student.

Relating your comments to items flagged using the Turnitin Originality Checker.

Inserting pre-configured QuickMarks for academic integrity or editorial feedback.

Non-text annotations such as circling items, writing math, or other content you would normally hand write. Also facilitates text comments well.

Submission types you can annotate

Supported file types in Turnitin GradeMark. Note that pure image files and scanned PDFs do not work due to Turnitin not being able to do Originality Checks on these types of files.

Turn on one setting when creating assignment (Turnitin tab) with optional other settings. Must launch Turnitin Feedback Studio to enter markup.
