Can I create a template file for students to copy and edit?

1. Store the file in a Google Drive folder where students do not have edit access or adjust permissions on the file so students cannot edit it.
2. Change the settings on the file to prompt people who access that file to make their own copy (instructions for prompting copy).
3. Share the link to the template file.

Students will click the link to open the file and make the copy. The student would choose where to save their copy of the file on their own Google Drive. Depending on what you need the student to do, the student may need to move their copy into a folder that you or classmates have access to, or change the settings on the file to share it with the appropriate people.
