Before you can interact with myCourses, you have to tell Respondus how to access the server.

You only have to do this once. After it is set up Respondus will remember your settings.

We show this through the Retrieval tab, but these settings will also be used to publish. This is the most direct way to help you make these settings the first time.

  1. In a browser window, open https://mycourses.rit.edu/ and log in with your RIT account.
  2. Return to Respondus. Click the Retrieval tab.

  3. Click Retrieve Questions.

  4. In the Brightspace Server dropdown, select - add new server -.

  5. Leave "Yes, check for preconfigured server settings" selected. Click the Next button.

    1. For item #3, the name to describe the Brightspace server, type myCourses.
    2. Skip item #2, the login information configuration. It will be picked up from your browser tab.
    3. For Item #3, the connection test, leave Run connection test selected.
    4. Click the Next button.

  6. You may receive a notice that_____. Click OK. You will receive a pop-up about needing an Authentication Module download. Click OK to download the additional module. You will need admin access on your computer in order to install this.
  7. On the Desire2Learn Authorization page click the RIT Account Login button, and log in using your RIT Username and Password.

  1. After logging Respondus Application requests permission to access your information.
You may check the Do not ask me again for this application checkbox to skip this dialog and avoid having to grant permission every time you log in.
    Click the Continue button.

  2. The window will now show a connection test, after a minute or so it should display a Connection Test: Completed Successfully message. Click the Next button.
If you receive an error contact Academic Technology Support for assistance.

  3. On the next dialog, click the Finish button.

Your setup is now complete.
