This article describes that Kosovo has no systematic monitoring of air, water and soil, scarce information talk about a very miserable. Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), which produces 98 percent of its electricity from lignite, pour about 25 tons of dust and ash in air every hour, which is 74 times higher than the rate allowed by European standards. Poor air quality affects the life cycle and has contributed to increasing the number of persons suffering from respiratory diseases and cancer. The water situation is equally dubious, and many people still do not have access to clean water and controlled, and about 167,000 tons of untreated sewage discharged directly to Kosovo rivers every year. "Thinking green" presents an overview of the environmental situation in Kosovo today and how central and local governments treat this condition, especially in the municipalities of Prishtina and Obilic.
