    Solutions

    • Award resources and credit to those contribute to student success
    • Share credit based on contributions
    • Provide incentives to the academic units, colleges, faculty, and staff to get involved in interdisciplinary projects
    • Clear message from the upper administration on what are the expectations regarding strategic priorities for research and academic programs
    • Develop streamlined process on how to introduce interdisciplinary joint programs
    • Modify SIS
    • Develop a budget model that incentivizes the college administration and faculty to work across disciplines, programs, and colleges.  
    • Provide space for student and faculty interdisciplinary activity
    • Create a culture that:
      • values both teaching and research
      • gives credit for interdisciplinary teaching and research
      • creates a community that fosters acceptance of diversity and recognizes diversity as a strength
