Enrollments and assignments will not appear immediately on myCourses, they will be received the next day.
myCourses receives an information feed once each morning starting at 3:00am and finishing around 5:00am Eastern.
For example, if an enrollment or assignment is made in the Registrar's records on Monday afternoon, it will not show up on myCourses until Tuesday morning after myCourses receives the next daily feed.
In the My Courses listing on the Homepage of myCourses, click the folder tab for the Semester.
The semesters are arranged in descending order. The most recent semester you have classes in will be to the left following the All tab.
We have an article explaining RIT Semester Codes, to help understand what these codes represent.
You will not have a Semester tab or All tab if your account only has courses in one Semester available to you. If you are new to RIT and only have courses assigned to you under a single semester that semester will be displayed right away for you. The semester is indicate on the course block, following the course title. You will see the All tab and Semester tabs once you get courses assigned to you that are in different semesters or categories. |

You can search for courses by in two ways.
When you are searching, you can search on any combination of:
If I was looking for BIOL.101.01 - Intro to Biology (BIOL10101.2191), I could search on 101 2191 for example. This would show me search results for all "101" course I have access to in the Fall 2191 semester.
The first place you can search is available throughout most pages on myCourses, the course selector menu "waffle" icon found at the top of the page.
Clicking this icon will show a menu to quickly select pinned and recently access courses. At the top of the menu is a search field where you can search for courses.
This is only available on the home page.
Below the course listing click the View all Courses link.
The page you are taken to has a search field where you can search for courses.

If you require immediate access to a course, a confirmation email may be sent by the scheduling officer, department head, or dean who represents the academic department offering the course to Academic Technology Support. This must include the full course number including section and the academic term of the courses(s). These measures are due to the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). |
The Course Updates indicators may not be 100% accurate. You may have indicators for work you cannot find. When a student make an appropriate action, such as making a Discussion post or taking a quiz, the system updates the indicators. The indicators are not updated if work is removed before the instructor reviews it. For example the instructor removes a Discussion forum before reading all new messages in it. A student drops or withdraws from a course and their work, such as a quiz attempt or assignment submission, is archived before the instructor reviews it. The vendor is aware of this concern but has not implemented a fix at this time. |
On the main myCourses homepage, the course tile has update counter icons for how many ungraded assignments, unread discussions, and ungraded quiz attempts you have.

On the course homepage, the Updates widget includes the same information. On the default course homepage, the Updates widget is found at the top of the right-hand column.
Visibility of this information in both locations is specific to your role:
Unread Discussion Posts (Instructors & Students)
Ungraded Quiz Attempts (Instructors Only)
Unread Assignment Submissions (Instructors Only)
