This page contains general information about safety in the SMFL.


Safety Training Information

All users of the SMFL must go through safety training first and then take and pass the SMFL Safety Test on a yearly basis.



Steps to get your safety training

New Users

1) Attend a New Researcher Safety Training Class - schedule is here
2) You will be sent a link to the safety test - take it.
3) After taking the test, see T. Grimsley to review the test and collect your badge. A signup sheet for review times is outside office 17-2511
(red star) The training process is not done until you have reviewed the test with T. Grimsley and signed the SMFL Safety Test Review form.
4) Your card and existing tool certifications will be added to the system at this time.



If you are a User with an expired Safety Badge and need refresher training

1) Attend a Refresher Safety Training Class - schedule is here
2) You will be sent a link to the safety test - take it.
3) After taking the test, see T. Grimsley to review the test and collect your badge. A signup sheet for review times is outside office 17-2511
